To be honest I think town for town Beledweyne more dominant than Galkacyo, but Galkacyo is connected with Bossaso, Garowe through trade, commerce, etc. connecting it with a port. Beledweyne Has to export through Bossaso.

Only reer Hiiraan go through Beletweyn, but even reer Beletweyn have to go to Gaalkacy for some services, like the airport. But all of Mudug and Galguduud have to go through Gaalkacyo for major services. Gaalkacyo is reliable, Beletweyn has become notorious as a war zone lately. Saying that, Beletweyn is still far bigger and commercially lucrative, but they need to sort out their political direction, it seems like the majority [fah's people] always take the losing side and pay for it.
