Dhulbahante Q&A

Post by GacanSareeye »

these are just questions about the dhulbahante people, their history, land, and the current struggle. it will cover and address both the internal and external factors (new and old), but it will be conditioned on what the people who hail from such area will share. Anyone from the noble clan of Dhulbahante can answer, all answers based on Wiki will be disregard, and any comment submitted will have to be approved by a Dhulbahante person before it is taken as a fact. this is purely an educational thread so please refrain from abusing or misusing it. it is strictly Q&A session.

first question.

why are there so many garaads, who are they, and who do they represent both in people and regions. Is there a general Dhulbahante garaad that is revered across the board. Are the Khasuusi the same as the garaads?

Garaad Jamac Garaad Cali is the Garaad of all Dhulbahante.

The rest are the Garaads of sub clans, we are not the only ones who have many issims (if it was up to me i would of had only 1 Garaad) . the khususi is a War-Council.

Not every one recognize Garaad jamac garad cali as the their supreme leader u do know that right
One funny thing though since when do Dhulbahante call their elders Isim? isim comes from islaan Majeeerteenka la baxa the correct term for your elders is Cuqaasha iyo salaadinta.

Thanks Babygirl,

good to know that there is one general Garaad, followed by other garaads for sub clans. How are the dhulbahante population scattered/distributed in their regions. what sub-clans live where. i am only asking this because their seems to be a regional or geographical tensions on the rise. i sometimes visit widhwidh.com and they always seem to be taking a dig at Laascaanood. are their strong pockets that support one regional admin strongly vs another one.

EYdoor this is only for Dhulbahante to answer

Dhulos are Reer-Nugaleed & Reer-Hawd. Lasanod is at the border between the two regions, the Dabo dhilifs who are against the war are a minority most people in SSC support the destruction of Somalidiids in our regions, Widhwidh.com and other Dhulos websites are doing a great job.

There is no common Garaad for all Dhulbahante. That has ceased to exist in 1854 when Mohamud Garaad setup their own Garaad. There is a famous phrase where a Guy named Mohamed Ali Naalaye Ahmed gave to the reigning Garaad of Dhulbahante at that time and he has said "Garaadow Garaad kaa lihin after they could not agree on internal issues. From the day, the common Dhulbahante Garaad ceased to exist. Recently, there were some people who are using this Garaadka Guud but it is just propoganda and wishful thinking that is not gonna fly on the face for many of us.

There are several instances where people repeated this Garaadka guud and other Garaado laugh at it.

Khalid,

Yes it is called Isimo. There was another name that Dhulbahante also used to use it and it is called "Duub".

Why is Xaabsade such a strong figure. what does he have that others lack? manpower, constiutency, experience? the guy is more powerful than all the garaads combined and seems to be in full control. too bad he is using a whole clan to get petty positions without any regards.

Udun- that is shame. you guys should really rally behind one leader. this proposal for the general garaad is a noble idea even if its not accepted. people that are divided internally will never arise tot he occasion, that is why Eydoors are handing UNICEF cash to your elders and buying them left to right. and you have people like Xaabsade racking these things up and dissing his own garaads and people for the enjoyment of a Lifetime Enemy.

SSC is a noble idea as well b/c he puts away the Dhuloos stereotype of being lackies. they should have their own rule and place. people who roam around talking about investments and sea and things for that nature are just kidding themselves. Somalis lives on UN and NGO handouts. this was true when Somalia was a government and it will stay true til Somalia produces something other than Water bottles and Soap.
