Re: Samatar's case
Very Positive news. The very fact that former heads of state receive no immunity is indeed wonderful development. Now all those who were intent on causing genocide, or were responsible for killing innocent people the world over can face the court without being shielded under immunity. This will at least give the claimants some form of a level-playing field and access to fair trail.

Re: Samatar's case
What did the Somali consititution say was within the Government rights when incidents like what happened in the north took place. (not interested in emotional outburst, if you know any legal recourse the then Gov't used, I want to know)
We know how the US handles cases such as what took place in Waco, Texas several yrs ago.

GeneralSNM,
I am forwarding this article to a friend of mine whose father was taken away by a Red Beret captain residing in the States in late December 1990. The father was never seen again.

If it comes down to it, Gen. Samatar will end up splitting his SSI benefits with the plaintiffs until he kicks the bucket.

Re: Samatar's case
Civil lawsuit over a senior citizen's retirement pension. Some justice.
Doesn't mean shit, neighbors sue each other over their pets shitting on their lawns everyday.
He'll walk out of this one without a scratch on his shirt or like xoogSADE said, maybe face the possibility of coughing up 15% of his retirement check. Who wants to bet?
So much for making an example of someone.
