Barmaid, 22, who didn't know she was pregnant gives birth on the toilet (she thought 'pain' was caused by moving barrels)

A barmaid revealed today how she woke in the night complaining about back ache - and gave BIRTH to a baby girl in her loo 30 minutes later.
Joanne Weller, 22, had no idea she was eight months pregnant after waking up with stabbing pains in her back at 4.45am at home.
She thought the pain was caused by working extra shifts at the pub worsened by moving barrels about in the cellar the evening before.
Joanne had continued to have her periods up to when she gave birth four weeks early.
She said: 'I wasn't even showing a bump, there was no clue I was pregnant.'
Her worried mother, Valerie, 52, phoned NHS Direct who advised her to call an ambulance as she may have appendicitis or kidney problems. But just half an hour later she felt the urge to push and healthy 6lb 1/2oz baby Madison Grace fell into the toilet basin.
Valerie dived down and scooped her new granddaughter from the bowl, and an ambulance arrived moments later to find her cradling the baby with umbilical cord still attached.
Joanne, of Somersham, Cambridgeshire, said the drama of May 21 was 'amazing' and Madison was the 'best surprise that could ever happen.'
She said: 'My mum went to get changed and I sat in the bathroom. I had stabbing pains in my back and felt like I needed to push.
'I pushed and a baby came out. Her head was down the loo and I was in shock and shouted out for my mum.
'My mum came back in and pulled her out and said to me 'its a baby'. I was in shock and panicking.
'When the paramedics came in, mum was holding the baby and I was leaning on the toilet, hovering because the umbilical cord was still attached.
'I was just in shock. The paramedics asked if I wanted to carry Madison to the ambulance and I said she wasn't mine.
'Mum just looked at me and said "Yes, she is yours".
'We were really lucky that mum hadn't put bleach down the toilet like she does every other night or so.'
Paramedics rushed mum and baby to Hinchingbrooke Hospital, Huntingdon, and kept both in the maternity ward for two more days under observation.
Doctors ruled out any chance of baby Madison Grace suffering Foetal Alcohol Syndrome, despite Joanne drinking and smoking over the past eight months as she had no idea she was pregnant.
Joanne said: 'The baby is healthy and back at home and has no idea the amount of fuss she caused. My parents got over the shock a lot quicker than I did.
'In a way I think I missed out on all the pregnancy stuff but at least I didn't have seven months to worry about it all.
'It was a very short labour. The third stage lasted just 13 minutes.'
Joanne has returned home where she lives with parents home help worker Valerie and self-employed courier Pete, 57, but plans to return to work as a barmaid soon.
She separated from the child's father several months ago, and he is aware of the birth.
New grandmother Valerie added: 'It was all a bit of a shock and I was shaken up. But natural instinct just kicks in and you do what you have to do.
'It was just one of those things and you get on with it. Now we have a lovely granddaughter.'
