Folks,
I would like to know what is like to grow up in a divorced family. Please share some of the pros and cons of growing up in a divorced family. does it make a difference to have a step Dad or Step Mom?
Remember there is no ceeb In what allah has made xalaal. So divorce is Xalaal and it happens according to Allah plans just like death happens.
So lets discuss. I am sorry I don't have the experience coz my parents are still married upto now.

Divorce is a new phenomena, impacting new generation Somalis. Most of the older generation couples are still together. My parents are still together and none of their friends are divorced. I think back in somalia divorce was a taboo and very shameful, also if there was any problems within the marriage the tribal elders and families would get involved and help solve the couples problems. Result, no divorce. Also, the generation older than our parents never got divorced, I don't know anyones grandmother/father who got divorced, they accepted polygamy and lived it.

Furiin is a recent phenomenon in Somalia culture sxb. Before the 90s only a small percentage of Somali couples got divorces. People worked through their problems.

anyone from a broken family must have a bad mum.
a man who is over 15 and still accept his mum to be single and open for one nigth stand should hang himself or disown his mum.
qaax tuufoo who ever wake up in the same house as his single mum
