So I gave a shout to some people in Erigavo, while the Isaaq minority votes they are completely banned from entering anywhere with their boxs. Honestly I find Isaaqs pathetic, just like other minorities world wide, you have the right to excercise your beliefs. Granted but when your running from bullets and pleading its just pathetic.

Fortuanetly, the Maakhir militia will be entering Erigavo in the coming days dont know how Isaaqs will handle this

Voting in Sanaag region
Parts of eastern Sanaag is disputed between Somaliland who say the region is within it’s 1960 international border and Somalia’s semi-autonomous region of Puntland, who claim the inhabitants are part of their Harti clan.

The elections started on time and peacefully in the provincial capital of the region, Erigavo which is completely under Somaliland control but there were some set backs in the far eastern towns and villages of Dhahar, Hadaftimo and Badhan.

In Dhahar, things started rather slow but after talks between NEC officials and local elders. Voting began in parts of the town while some section protested fearing a strong vote in Somaliland would give Somaliland greater international status. NEC official said the voting is been conducted outside the town.

In the town of Hadaftimo, there have been reports of looting of six polling boxes however the latest reports coming from the town said the issue has been resolved after a mediation from local elders led by Sultan Saed Sultan Abdulsalam Ahmed Ismail and Hassan Mohammed Salah ‘Somali’. No reports if the six boxes had been reported.

In Badhan, which is a small town that’s partly controlled by Somaliland, there have been reports of voting without any violence. The local elders urged people to vote if they wish to vote but to avoid violence confrontations.

The locals said most people had voted for the main opposition, Kulmiye Party led by Ahmed Mohammed ‘Silanyo’.

International Election Observer, Michael Walls said elections in all regions of the country were “by and large pretty positive.”

He added one-third of Somaliland’s 1,070,000 eligible voters registered their vote by midday.

Over all, Mr Essa Yusuf Mohamed said he was pleased the way the election went in spite of those minor set backs and the deaths, which he regrets.

The government say it was never concern about the SSC militants, who number few hundreds, but was largely worried about al-shabab, the radical group fighting the Somali government in Mogadishu. Somaliland says it was capable of handling international terrorist groups and the fact that al-shabab has been kept away is a prove.

The results are expected to be announced some time next week

Sanaag has great potential when developed more tyhen likely the warsans will have majority of the wealth and power. You don't need a war to that which is already yours by birth right. War will retard the growth of your region making you weak and vulnerable to all influences that you share a border with. We dont care for such nonsense. The reality on land is a few rebel renegades with a worthless chip dont have power in Somalia. So they meddle with others, it is the right time to go on an offense and get rid of SNM once and for all. They are just as violent as Al-shabab or any other terror group. SNM based in Hargeysa has no base in Maakhir and disturbing peace by creating insecurity by using their rebels against our civilians they will pay the ultimate price and see casualties.

Maakhir has risen, and will rise by recognizing SNM as a terrorist network based in Hargeysa spear heading attacks, so too shall Somalia.
