hypothetical question, what would you do????
What would you do?, if an immediate family member ( for the sake of this discussion, parent or sibling) needed a kidney and asked you to be tested to see if you were a match?
My off the cuff answer ,would probably be yes but given time to consider all the possible ramifications of donation I'm not so sure.
What if you matched but decided you didn't want to go through with the procedure. How could you tell a close family member "I know your life is on the line, but I'm sorry I
just don't want to donate?

Re: hypothetical question, what would you do????
Ouch!
1. A family member that cares about me will not put me in such a circumstance.
2. If they did they are already prepared for an honest answer.
3. Rule number 1 in the game of self preservation is that instinct will always favour ones safety.
4. Check the statistics of the number of transplants that endup failing.
5. There is a 3-5 year waiting list for accidental donors.
Imagine going through the whole process, loosing a part of yourself and it endsup not helping the family member.
