This is intended as a non-offensive question, but why is Somalia a part of the Arab League? I read the ancestors of ethnic Somalis originated in the Ethiopian highlands. When in history did Somalis have contact with Arabs or were converted to Islam? Do Somalis have considerable admixture with Arabs ( or any other Semetic/Middle Eastern people for that matter) ?(I'm not trying to prove a point, these are legitimate questions ). Was this just some type of political move? What connection do Arabs and Somalis share beyond religion ( which of course there are West African Muslims, Chinese Muslims, South Asian Muslims, Bantu African Muslims, even European Muslims etc. )

We are part of the arab leauge for mainly political reasons, but our links with the arabs are very deep.

Come’ on no one will buy the argument that almost 200 million people spread in over 20 countries all are oppressed by their meager "few" rulers and that they can’t revolt, the reality is that Arabs are weak and they are all content in being treated like the peasant they are. Look back in history; stories of nations revolting against their tyrants are endless, from the French revolutions ending the monarchy to the eradication of South African apartheid, Arabs can never step up and free themselves either from the tyranny of their leaders or the infatuation and mental subjugation of the west. Are you sure? Most African groups and most groups in the world originated from somewhere else in ancient times. Bantu Africans originated in the Nigerian/Cameroon border region 4000 years ago, the Khoisian and Pygmy peoples are the indiginous peoples of southern and central Africa respectively.
