It is one of the wonders of the former somali republic. They survived and may allah reward them for their hardship. I was just curious how long it took them to learn somali?
Comparing Somali and Chichewa(malawi language) there is a huge gulf. Comparison:
kamba(chichewa for speak), Kambaa/kanbaa( is it this one in somali)
kazi(female) , Kasi(him)
kati(center), Kadi(urine)
khala(stay), Qala(slaughter)
kwata(make love), Ka wata(take away)
luma(bite), Luma(be lost)
mafuta(Lotion), Ma Futa(is that an anus)
maso(eyes), Maso(snakes)
masano(Grave yard), Ma Sano(is it this way)
sankha(choose), Sanka(nose)
sasa ( be somewhat rancid but not quite
rotten), Sasaa(is that how it is)
tola mwana(have an illegitimate child), Tola ma wanaa( you think i can't find close relatives)
tulo(trouble staying awake), Tulo(village)
vuto(trouble), Futo(anus)
ufa(flour), Ufaa(stinks)
