How are American High Schools and Unis?
Is it like what's it is portrayed on television?
Do you have jocks and Cheerleaders? Are there numerous bands and clubs you can join in the school? Do people actually follow the school sports teams like Bball team and Football (NFL) teams? Do Colleges really have that crazy parties? Is your cafeteria that big? Are the buses yellow?
Sorry about all the questions. But I have grown up my whole life watching American TV shows. They make out High school and Uni to be the best thing ever. Unlike Australia and NZ, it's very dull and boring. Nothing ever happens nor do we have sports team,

I don't think the Somalis in America subscribes to that way of life. Just an opinion.

oxidant yes it is. american is the best place to live and invest. our schools are as big as you have seen, with lockers streching from your first class to the corners of the bathroom to the ends of your last class. there are clubs, groups, associations, teams, and interest groups based on knowledge level, group/cultural affiliations, education/vocational interests. there is also class crowns/kings, princesses and so on as well as proms and endless parties. this is only high school, in college, the interest and activities get multiplied and doubled, the parties get biggger and rowder, the xumaan more apparant and extravagant, and the mischief out of the world. you have college kids that dont know what 2+2 in a calculus class and kids writing papers starting with the conclusion. college kids only make up for the bad grades in their last two years and get an avarage C to barely graduate. the movies you watch are the closest things to our system here.
welcome to america.

One thing to note about American schools, Affluent areas are almost like what you see in Hollywood. In areas where you have concentration of immigrants and blacks, the schools are crumbling, no sports teams, no computer labs, the gyms are dirty. Reasons for that being schools are tax dependent, the wealthier the area the more funding the schools get, the poorer the area the poor qualities of schools. So, f-king NO, all Americans don't have the same experience in schools. The buses are Yellow for all high schools. University of Minnesota runs its own Bus line that are comfortable and free.
Hollywood movies go to rich area schools to shoot their movies, so what you see is not representative of All America, only parts of it. Colleges are different though, most of them are okay financially. Most poor people don't make to colleges anyway and the Federal government chips in for the funds to sustain the public Universities.
University of Minnesota has A Stadium, Foot ball team, Basket Ball team, Huge Gym, And Beautiful women naturally. My two cents.
PS: A bit of a reality for those kids who live in Europe and think America is great, f-king STAY WHERE YOU ARE. You will only be miserable in America. It is not fun living in America.

Re: How are American High Schools and Unis?
I don't know their numbers but I see them big foreheads by the loads. A good sign. They are mostly enrolled in two year colleges(not part of the Unviersity) to transfer later to the Uni. It makes economic sense that way. Do a two year generals(general credits leading upto your major) at Community colleges, then come to the University for the remainder two years of a four year BS degree or whatever.

Re: How are American High Schools and Unis?
Some American schools don't even have chairs to sit on. I remember sitting on the floor for 6 hours (of course we had breaks). The building would sometimes leak, because of the deterioration of the roof and we would still sit on the wet floors.

It's true that American schools have sports teams such as Basketball and Football teams and they have cheerleaders and music bands. but they also have drugs, sex, bulleying and school shootings.

Re: How are American High Schools and Unis?
High school was fun. I always loved waking up for school the day after our school beat another school in football/basketball. I'd walk into school and our side windows would be egged and spray painted. Our school cheerleaders beefed with other school cheerleaders!
Aghh, those were the days!
