AU Map of Somalia 2010 - 2015

Post by paidmonk »

If you didn't notice, Kenya has been making their requests and dreams for Somalia to the AU through Uganda, why else would Museveni be so eager to send troops to the "Jubba" regions as he stated, what the fuck does a Ugandan know about Somalia's geography? Basically, the AU is designing a way to turn Somalia into a UN trusteeship under the watch of IGAD and partners Djibouti and Ethiopia, why else would they want to send troops to parts of the country untouched by war? Somalia will be entirely occupied by AU peacekeepers and it will turn into pre-1960s conditions politically.

Afterward, below is how Somalia will be divided:

-Kenya gets Gedo and the Jubba regions
-Djibouti gets Awdal region
-Puntland is cut off to just Bari, Nugaal, and a few towns in northern Mudug and declared its own country
-Somaliland is cut off to just Waqoyi Galbeed and slivers of Togdheer and eastern Awdal and declared its own country
-Everything left is handed directly to Ethiopia

The reason Sanaag, Sool, and Mudug are cut off from Puntland is to marginalize the size and power of an independent Somali nation in the northeast. The reason Awdal, Togdheer, and the eastern regions are cut off from Somaliland is to the same effect. They want those two states to get recognition and autonomy but with limited influence in a future Somalia, so their territorial size and sphere of influence is drastically reduced to achieve this. In both Somaliland and Puntland, the portions considered most "Pro-Somaliweyn" are given to neighboring countries to stem the flow of such ideas.

The map is as follows:

Somalia is a threat to the security of all East African countries thanks to Al Shabab. We were a pathetic list of failed TFGs but now, especially since the attack in Kamplala, the problem is affecting our neighbours in ways that can't be ignored. If we can't govern ourselves to eliminate the threat, they can and probably will eliminate it for us. If losing our soverignty is the price then so be it. It's not like it has meant much for the past 20 years or even arguably the past 40 years. Become a UN protectorate and stay there until we are capable of maintaining a peaceful state. Until the children born into war can learn about what life in a safe country is supposed to feel like. Pretending we're all that and more is delusional, we need help. Divine and otherwise

Whether we like it or not, it is time now for the UN to make Somalia its protectorate. The arrangement, I insist should be kept in place until the Somalis can learn to live peacefully again. One important area where the international community should exert more efforts after taking over Somalia is to fight the growth and consumption of narcotics. In Somalia, it is said, almost everyone chews the ‘khat’, like a hungry goat.

Exactly, so why is AU trying to send 40,000 men to occupy the whole country for a problem that can be addressed in Mogadishu using other logistics and some politics. Long-term goals are being made.

I didn't say the outcome would be 100%. IF, that is IF the AU wins this conflict, which is unlikely, the situation in Somalia will be as I stated. Ethiopia, and even ironically Sudan may even send troops to Somalia - then it is game over for Al-Shabaab if Arab intermediaries like Libya and Sudan sign off on AU's plans.

What a fantasy, as if Djibouti could annex anything from Somaliland! Djibouti could not do anything when Somaliland was at its weakest in the 1990's they tried and failed miserably to capture s/land territory and got bitch slapped.

Who the fuck said Djibouti will do this? The whole African Union is going to be involved. If Djibouti doesn't get Awdal, Ethiopia will get it, which is a more likely scenario. The UN will basically have an auction and just give away politically questionable Somali provinces to neighboring states.

If you think Somaliland's 1960 borders will be respected and given independence, you are delusional. If any region in Somalia will be given its own autonomy and recognition, its size and influence on other Somali regions will be drastically reduced before being given an outlet to the rest of the world.

No, you are delusional the 1960 borders will be respected and your people who come under Somaliland will be locked into those borders, you are locked into the borders of Somalia and you will remain under Hawiye hegemony and no photo shopped map and far-fetched fantasy will help you
