The Sad News from Somaliland
Ottawa(Saylac.com)-It’s unfortunate and sad news that Siraanyo four days old government has indiscriminately opened live ammunition to democratically innocent protesting citizens of Somaliland in Awdal and Salal Regions. The incident occurred in the city of Borama and other cities in those regions. The protesters claiming that the troops fired on civilians shouted slogans on denouncing Siraanyo new government cabinet ministers.
Though there was no death but people including children were wounded after soldiers fired live ammunition during the protest and the military armored and personnel vehicles chased women in the streets of Borama, and other cities of Awda and Salal. The same thing was happened in Hargeisa (Isha Borama ee Hargeisa) in which the soldiers used live ammunition and protesters were taken to jails.
Somaliland Police shooting Civilians in Borama
We would not be surprised Siraanyo started to walk the long-trodden path of old other African dictators in the past like Marshal Mobutu of Zaire, Paul Biya of Cameroon, Omar Bongo of Gabon, Gnassingbe Eyademe of Togo and Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe, who put their interest loyalty on the barrel of gun. We just let him know that the time has changed and the actions of the new government on the microscope. The Somaliland largest political party (UDUB) is on eye you.
President Riyale left a stable country with democratic institutions, Somaliland Family, and where the rights of the people are gracefully respected. We hope Siraanyo would not change Somaliland stability into chaos and pushed the peace loved people into their limits. We like to remind everyone Somaliland has only one flag:
Remember: PEOPLE NEED UDUB PATIENCE
On behalf of UDUB Diaspora (North America)
