Yesterday an Eritrean friend of mine invited me to a 'restaurant' for a meal. There was fund raising event for an eritrean charity which sponsors poor people in Eritrea, helping people with school fees and meals for children etc.
To my surprise the location of the restaurant turns out to be a 2 bedroom council flat in north London owned by an Eritrean lady, when I asked my Eri friends ''i thought we were going to a restaurant?'' they reply ''yes and we here'', ''what inside these council flats?''... apparently the flat is a restaurant on weekends and judging by the turn out a quite popular one. customer were from many different races and countries. delicious food and once a month they raise money for the charity. Also as I later discover this was totally legal, because the 'guests' were not seen as paying customers rather as house guests and the money they pay for the food and drinks was treated as either donations or as 'goodwill gesture''. Thus, avoiding taxes and other legal issues.
Have you ever come across such a business/restaurant???

Im suprised your suprised
Every food lover knows about this.
They are everywhere.
There's this really good restaurant in South London where you go and eat/drink and at the end of your meal you pay whatever you think the meal was worth
