Guys,

I am about to finish My Business degree and thinking about persuing an MBA. I was looking for anyone who has persued it to get an advice. I can only afford to take it from Carlson School of Business.

I have worked as an assistant supervisor for the past 5yrs in a manufacturing ( assembly Line).

Do you think it is worth the effort, time and Money? I am not good in science so I opted for Business.

Honestly, it is a waste of time. I was preparing my MBA, when I realized it was not worth it. However, the reason I speak such a gruesome way towards the MBA degree is because, it was NOT my passion. If it is your passion, then by all means, go for it. I decided to go in the direction of medicine, and after 3 years, I literally dropped the BALL and left that field.

I think my passion is in Politics and History, thus at the moment I'm in a prestiges school, preparing my M.A in Politics. I think I have found my path after a long time.

I think, the best is not attained quickly, but by mere suffering in the creating the potential of reaching your passion.

Hanad,

I think if your passion is business, why not experiment with few ventures and see what happens. Your experience as a supervisor will hold you in good stead. You will learn valuable experience by actually trying and doing something practical. I don't hold an MBA.

MBA is the real deal when the concentration is finance (banking, financial engineering) or accounting (Actuary). I'm speaking from experience. Also it depends what industry you are working in. If you want to be investment banker or work one of those big financial companies such as Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan or any other major player in that industry, an MBA will literally make it easy for you to claim that ladder.......

If you want to work in Manufacturing I would suggest for you to look into Master of science in Management.

Hanad,

I don't hold an MBA myself but I know people who do. If you are finishing up your bachelors now, you want to go into the work force first and get experience before you go get an MBA. An MBA without experience is a big waste of money and time so get your experience first and who knows your company might even pay for it.

But an MBA really helps if you want to work in management. Of course other things are needed too but MBA helps excel your career.

Thank you very much guys. You are all nice brothers who are smart and with a good heart.

I went to business because Science challenges me. I thought about Finance but banking and interest can't be seperated.

I thought Management would be of value but abaheed wastada there are EX Business Managers, Ex Directors and Ex 20years supervisors out there trying to settle down for anything. I lost to a guy with 20yrs experience and a high school for the last supervisor interview that I went to. Management is the only field that even high school would outbeat you with experience.

It is a cadaan dominated field. That is how aan kufakaray Maybe hadii aa MBA qaadato you would be unstopable.

I know this guy who is a Dr in BA
Thus the thing is before you start an MBA at least you should have gained a three years management experience if not its pure waste of time.
