Owning slaves, something to be proud of?

Is it just a childish point scoring thing or can you actually be proud to claim that your ancestors used to be slave owners? If it's true then it's terrible and if it's not it is shocking that an adult black African can joke about such a thing. Marka why would you say it as if wax lagu faano ey tahay? Shameless, then you will say that Islam and Al Shabab are the key in another thread, yahuu
Forgot this is somalinet generals after all

Wrong is wrong no matter who does it and unlawfully taking someone's freedom is wrong.

Actually it was to emphasise that we should be able to shun and speak against anything that is wrong regardless of how close to you the perpetrators are/were. Somalis can never see their own crimes, if someone from my people does something wrong then I will stick by them regardless, that is our mentality and that is wrong. I was trying to lead by example.
Shyte dude I can see I rate very high on your virtue list

Naw don't take it like that but you needed to see how you might come off to some of the members here, and you know what would of ensued..
Lakin somali mentality is to not ceeb your qabiil and I'm starting to realize why, there is no group who is as social as somalis, and they aren't bias on which qabils they socialize. The thing with too much socializing comes with people trying to dominate eachother in discussion and social meetings by making fun of eachother and you never want to give someone else a weapon they can use against you, even kids in somali will be like tuumal ba tahay, hebel iyo hebel ba tahay.
I have that same mentality to my family sometimes iyo qabil if someone is trying to sayings purposefully to make fun of/ put me down. You can't help yourself but want to defend yourself. But this mentality grows to whoever you encounter, like how somali's wont tell the police where a somali kid who running from them is hiding.
p.s. I just wanted to see how you would react

I dont know what is your problem. In Quran, slavery was a well accepted practice. You only have to treat them fair and Islamically correct. But owning a slave is an economic reality encouraged in the Quran.

i'm so proud that the forefathers of this ummah - the sahaba (ra) - owned slaves
kuuffar - allah curse them - are worthless. but if they can be of some value - economically, as slaves - then so be it
