If he is, no wonder Marehan is and has been in the gutter for some time now. Practically all our leaders, supreme above all Somali leaders, have washed their hands off of Somali politics.

From what I have heard and read about him and from what I have read of his own work, I believe it was wrong to arrest him as well as other men like Mudane Gacaliye. I believe guys like them would have served Aabe Siyaad well and would have bestowed on him a great national legacy particularly regarding the tumultuous 80's then the other Marehans who convinced him to see them as a threat as well as gave him advice that is one of the key factors the state imploded.

Even though he insults isaaq in the poem he still made me laugh, especially these bits:

No I did not and it never even crossed my mind wallahul cadiim. I always assumed Dr Mohammed was an old and feeble man, not this xayi after all this time. I was told he was about 50 when arrested in 1982 and held in solitary confinement until 1988.

I deliberately pluralized the word 'fact' '. It has nothing to do with his imprisonment during the 80's, rather, what he currently engages in now and the actions he displayed post-1991.

Heck, Cumar Xaaji was imprisoned, yet I have a great deal of respect for the guy.

Gacaliye was never imprisoned,instead he fled to Paris after his resignment to start his tirade of propaganda like a puppet on a string.

Ali Said took part the civil war by videoing the genocide, you can ask around, he was imbedded with Aideed and he recorded the murder of his own Wagardhac cousin though he later claim he did not know his cousin at the time.
