Omar Arteh Ghalib was a true Mujaahid, an intelctual Mujaahid, for dacades he had struggled ( u halgamey) for the education of his people as an educator and worked tiredlessly to liberate not only his people somali from oppression but also for african liberation. He promoted and advocated for honesty, rightiousness and patriotism. His weapons of choice was never the ak47 but his god given intelect and talent as a diplomat. And for the great halgan, on June 16, 1988, Siad Barre sent Mujaahid Arteh to prison and charged him with high treason where he spent 6 years in solitary confinement. It was a very difficult period for him and his family. It would be foolish and great injustice to say that he did not take part of the struggle.

Like I said umar carte was a good politician of his time , he would have been great If he Joined the SNM heck even Selebaan gaal joined the SNM In 1988 even Dr gaboose as for being on prison he was released after 18 months , remember in 1991 he was Making the shots In xammar and saying the sna should all surrender to The SNM USC and SPM which caused the biggest collapse of the Somali army
