-What are you most passionate about in life?

-What inspired your username?

-Would you ever go home again, meaning Somalia.

I have many passions in life. There include but are not limited to Politics - African politics especially Somali Politics. I also have a keen interest in history - especially Colonial history of Britain, France, Spain and Portugal. Similarly, I am also interested in exploring the process of decolonisation and post-colonial trajectories of African countries.

I am very interested in film, documentaries and social media. I also have a passion for reading. I enjoy football - that is watching it.

In 2006, I moved to a new area and for reason unbeknownst to me, next door neighbour started to call me Marcus. Before you know it, the whole area was calling me Marcus. I just added the Smith to it.

As it happens Nabeela, I recently quit my job to teach at the University of Hargesia. I will be there for 6 months. I am leaving on the 8th of September.

I was in Public Policy.

I was accepted into the international teachers programme at Hargesia University. Its not the most paid job in the world but at least its a valuable experience and its an opportunity to contributed towards the development of Somaliland.
