Post by studente »

If you, the lates arrival in the diaspora is as negative as you are, what do you expect from those who are on the verge of forgetting their roots?

lool @ latest arrival. yup I just got off da plane from Timbaktu last week with my Laughing

but I'm totally serious. its going to take a drastically long time before any change comes. ok warlords may die out but Somalis will always and forever be qabilists. ppl are like "oh this is something new and temporary we'll be peaceful again" well duh Rolling Eyes I didn't know this before but I was doing some research online and Somalis have ALWAYS been like this. ALWAYS and ALWAYS they've been fighting each other-its their history their way of life. I dunno I'm no historian or some philisopher but I see what I see. voila there it is Laughing

There will be no Somalian gov't in our life time (lets say the next gov't will be formed around 2050), I am indifferent and couldn't give a monkeys about it.

The problem is NOT the Warlords. The problem is with Somali People supporting the warlords! If Somalilanders chose to be without warlords why not the people of Mogadishu? They should get rid of warlords. They can do it! But they choose not to!

Studente,

I really feel for you. But I think there is hope. The more the somalis get educated, the better it will be. Education is the key.
Primitive tribalist beliefs should be a thing of the past as these beliefs have been the source of endless wars and brutal crimes.
As people become more educated, they tend to be more "humanists" and less "tribalists".
I believe that the more educated somalis (by that, I mean somalis with university degrees) tend to look at things in a different way (am I wrong????)

The challenge is for the new generation to pursue education and enlightenment and then be able to change things.
Most of our fathers (not only in Somalia but also in my own country and throughout Africa) still hold tribalistic beliefs but these beliefs tend to be less relevant with our generation.
As the older generation dies off, there is a real opportunity for us to accept that we are all the same, the children of Adam, and we must learn to live with each other.
As Allah (SWT) says He created us and made us into races and tribes so that we may know each other (not kill each other or hate each other).

Sister studente, do not desperate or loose hope. Remember that the only thing constant in this world is change.
