Dirac

Post by Air Canada »

The way i understand it this is a female dress but to reer mudug and especially reer Galkacyo it means something different. Dirac to them means qof special ah and if someone from there calls you dirac that person means you are a legend. I didn’t know this until this guy said to me i am dirac today and i told him saaxiibow inaa i ceyso maaha aniga dirac na ma gashti dukaan dirac lagu gadana iima furno marka is xushmeeno. He explained what he meant by it and few other guys who were present said sxb waa wax lagu faano dirac in Gaalkacyo. But seriously, what the fuck is wrong with these people who think calling a guy dirac is cool thing? Call me shaati or surweel or macawiis war xataa dabagaab waa iska qaadana instead of dirac but why dirac? Tomorrow its gonna be googarad and allahu aclam what is to come after that...maybe rajabeeto

Maybe you need to go to grade school to learn Somali? Af Soomaali anigoo weyn garan maayo ma wax lagu faanaa? This topic is a fail.

For the record if someone says about you nin gaari ah baa tahay, it is the same as nin dirac ah baa tahay or nin nool. It doesn't literally mean you are a car man.

Dirac is the c through dress that the females wear on the other hand, Diric is someone who is noble, gob, a good person...etc

both words are very similar in writing and the way they sound esp if the word is new to your ears!!!

Airhead-Canada....

He should’ve rephrased it to “Diricle-Baad-Tahay”, instead of saying “Dirac Baad Tahay” which is a compliment. The dude actually said you come across as a forthright, hard-hitting, and vigorous individual and here you go nitpicking and criticizing Reer Mudugs. I wonder why ppl attack me, when I state the fact, Mooryans are originally from Uganda - Well, considering their Physique, mental capacity and traditions. They can't relate to the rest of Somalis, Lol...

Well, its not a surprise if they start using googarad, remember years ago--that was your somalinet username? :D the Big question is -why are you obsessed with woman paraphernalia!?

PS: Speaking of Dirac---did u all know there is a new style of Dirac? Dirac nowadays is no longer naked to the eyes--- there is a long thick strapless garmet won underneath it. Its like a tight long cossette!

Just like everyone told you dirac is sometimes a Somali adjective meaning qof\ gob ah. Af Soomaaligi baa lagaa habaaray.

I told this to a friend last night and he laughed and said i wonder how you would have reacted if someone from Galkacyo called you Islaan.

I asked him what he means by that and he said islaan (islaan the way i know it is an old lady) is something exceptinally good in Gaalkacyo.

Islaan = Ugaas

Reer Gaalkacyo wadanka ayakaa qaribay hadana somaligii ee ku dheelen. Sidee nin weyn loo dhihi karaa islaan aa tahay?

Majeerteen baa adna silic aduunyeed kugu noqday.

Btw here is more bar ama baro waxbarashada dadka waa wayn for you...Somali is a tonal language. Words have different meaning and different gender according to pronounciation

Inan

I-nan = young boy (masculine)
In-an = young girl (feminine)

Nacas

Na-cas = stupid boy (masculine)
Nac-as = stupid girl (feminine)

In the same Islaan is pronounced

I-slaan = heridatary leader (masculine)
Is-laan = head lady (feminine)
