Isaqs

Post by sadeboi »

Isaqs I have a question what is the lowest sub-section that you generally mention. For example the reer-caynanshe of haber-yonis...do people generally mention below it to non haber-yonis AND how many names does the general person count to caynaanshe or for example biicde of habar jeclo....basically what are the general sub-section that are mentioned.

I'm sure you have asked this question before, never the less I wil answer...

Mine goes like this..

Its begins with
Muse Shiek Isxaaq 90% of HJ the other 10 percent consist of Samane iyo Sanbur
Mohammed Abokor Iyo Musse Abokor.
Nux Mohammed
Farax Abdillahe
Reer Dahir
Abokor Omar.
I wont go pass their but I am one below that.

So may sub section is Reer Dahir. But Reer Dahir splits into 13 subtribes. Then one subtribe the reer Yusuf again split up into 8 times.

see if this helps.

To be honest non reer waqooyis I have seen don't really know any Isaaq sub clans except maybe Habar Jeclo. However each subclan knows those who reside with them such as: Gadabuursi & sacad muuse; Dhulbahante and HJ/HY; Warsangeli & HY; Jidwaaq/Bartiire & sacad muuse; Ogadeenka waqooyi & Arab/Ciidagale/HY

For me when I meet other Isaaqs who aren't HA, I just tell them I'm Sacad Muuse as most of the time they haven't heard of my sub-sub-clan. You get the occasional Isxaaq(HY subclan) or Ciidagalle or Arap who might have heard. To other somalis who aren't reer waqooyi again sacad muuse.

My sub-subclan isn't really well known even within Isaaq people so there's no point telling them.

Btw, I'm could mention as low as Reer Sugaal which is:

Sugaal (Reer sugaal) -> Cismaan -> Xasan -> Makhaahiil -> Isxaaq -> Sacad Muuse -> Subeer -> Awal (HA) -> Sh Isxaaq

Kan Jaahilka ah yaa fahmay? Kolleyba SIyaad Barre ayaa aabbihiis wasiir u ahaa nasiib darro waxna xitaa ma barin. Bal car waa kaase fahma.

There are 4 types of Daarood. Based on the 30 year generational mulplier that experts devised to pinpoint the time of tribal founders, here is some simple math that will shock you.

1. Actual Daarood lived 400 years ago. I am talking about C/Raxmaan Ismaaciil Jeberti, the son of Akhdam from Hadramuut. Historical records ascertaining the time of Abdirahman Jeberti are solid and are even available online. Using the 30year Multiplier, the offspring of this type of Daarood should count an average of 13 Oday. (400yrs/30 multiplier=13.3)

2. Mareexaan's Daarood lived some 1200 years ago. Average Mareexaan lineage count 37 - 40 oday all the way to their version of Daarood. (40 generations*30yr multiplier=1200yrs).

3. Ogaadeen version of Daarood lived around 1000 years ago. Average Ogaadeen counts 33 Oday (33 generations*30yrs multiplier=990 years).

4. Majeerteen version of Daarood fluctuates depending on the time of the day. Majeerteen counts 24 generation in the morning, 30 in the afternoon and 50 in the evening. Some claim this segment of current Daarood tribe trace its origin to the Habasha.

5. Dhulbahante Branch of Daarood counts an average of 23 Oday which is roughly 700yrs.

Let us now look the other tribes including the Dir family in which Doonbiro hails from.

> Average Isaaq lineage counts 21 Oday all the way to Sh Isxaaq
> Average Hawiye lineage(Madarkicis & Muddulood) count 24 generations.
> Average Dir lineage count 23 generations

In conclusion, The Dhulbahante version of Daarood is consistent with other Somali tribal lineages and therefore could be the person who married Doonbiro Dir. Was he another Daarood Ismaaciil Jeberti? I doubt so, but his name could have been Daarood. The other versions either belong to another Daarood or they were Darodized and became a member of Daarood Confederacy.
