Re: Jalalaqsi Massacre
I know many of my sub-clan (Abdalle) fleeing to Goday were massacred by Hutus, isn't Jalalaqsi in Hiiraan?

Re: Jalalaqsi Massacre
Jalalaqsi is a town where you can still find the skeletons of Ogaden people in the local river. I want to visit one day.

Re: Jalalaqsi Massacre
Jalalaqsi was a massacre of unarmed and vulnerable Ogadeen refugees in Hiiraan by Xawadle thugs.
The question should be why Ogadeen were settled in these areas when there kin lived in the vast lands of Jubboyinka where there was plenty for all. They were used as a tool and when things fell apart these people were vulnerable and open to attack.

All I know is a few hundred(200-500) Absame were killed by Xawadle who surrounded there shelter. Some were refugees from 77, others from Xamar. There was not Absame presence in Hiiran except for these folks tryna get home. Its was the Civil War everyone was killing everybody but Absame were hit hard here specifically which is what happens when your not native to the deegaan.I hope that Xawadle Colonel is in Jahanam.

What is the name of the colonel responsible for the massacre of our people if you know? I hope the f*cker rots in hell as well.
I didn't know it was the Xawaadle who carried out this appalling crime, I know we are not supposed to brush everybody with the same brush but my estimation of the Xawaadles has gone down and I would be careful in how I deal with them.
The bloody Abdalle in Goday ought to retiliated against the Xawaadles, Ferfer is not very far Goday
Re: Jalalaqsi Massacre
Col.Maxamed Abokor(not sure), they just fed them to the river.Has to be one of the most disturbing events seen there, cruel animals.
Bro Bah-Geri in the 90's chased all Hawiye out of Ogadenia to baledweyne, we could have destroyed them to oblivion. But Absame always have there priorities messed.

That is the problem with us: we just do defence and not offense, we should take no prisoners and behave like them.

Re: Jalalaqsi Massacre
The massacre and genocide committed by Xawaadle thugs against fleeing refugees is something that needs to be told. The perpetrators of this horrible genocide need to be brought to the International Criminal Courts. What most people don't know is that fleeing Ogaden refugees were fully armed initially and were ready to defend themselves but the elders took very bad decision. Apparently the Xawaadle Ugaasses met with the Ogaden refugees elders and begged them to give them the weapons. They convinced the Ogaden elders to leave the weapons in Hiiraan because if they don't do that the enemy of Somalia would confiscate the weapons at the crossing points. The elders then ordered over 400 well-armed men to lay down their weapons and hand them over to the Xawaadle elders. As soon as they left their weapons, they got ambushed where people with no mercy and humanity even threw children as young as 6 months into the Shabeele river. Nobody has the exact numbers of the perished innocent refugees but I have seen reports from 500s to 2000s.
Sometimes when things like that happen, if it doesn't personally affect you, you wouldn't understand the magnitude of it. Walaahay I am telling you a true story. A good friend of mine and myself drove from San Diego to MN one summer. It was a nice ride as both of us were chewing fresh Miraa throughout the trip enjoying some old school Somali Kaban music. Somewhere along the highway, my friend, who was the passenger at the time, shutdown the radio, I thought he was just tired of the loud music. There was five minute silence. And then he said out of nowhere:
Geelle(his family's name): Do you know any Xawaadle
Guhad: Yeah lots of them; even some Xawaadle relatives; I asked why are you asking that? I thought some Xawaadle dude messed with his girlfriend or sister or something along those lines.
Geele: After another five minutes pause he emotionally uttered "If you hear one day Geelle went crazy and killed 20 Xawaadle, don't disbelieve".
Guhaad: Why what did they do to you; that hiiraan massacre wasn't even in my mind
Geelle: and then tears in his eyes he said " Do you know that 4-generations of one family I am the surviving one"
Guhaad: I just couldn't say anything. My body froze. I couldn't drive.
He then told me the story. His dad, grandfather, great-grandfather were killed that day. Killed were also some of his brothers, uncles and hundreds of his close relatives.
As a matter of fact his great grand father was one of the elders who instructed the refugees to give their weapons to Somalis instead of being confiscated by the Ethiopians.
After listening to his story, seeing his emotion and tears in his eyes, I got off the road telling him that I wanted to take a piss. I actually got so emotional that I stood behind a tree and cried silently for good 10 minutes. Here you have 23 year old Somali boy who lost an entire lineage of his family. I just couldn't believe.
While I wouldn't crusade for revenge, but I sometimes wonder if the mercilessly murdered refugees were from another Somali clan other than Ogaadeen? At least the news about the massacre would have been known around the world. Not even too many Ogadenis know about this? The world needs to know what happened that day? Who was responsible? Who gave the orders? Where were the Xawaadle elders? The surviving victims should all be interviewed and have their eyewitness accounts recorded. In my view, that was the single biggest massacre in Somali history. It would be stupid if Ogaden doesn't seek justice for these victims. The 6-month old babies who were thrown into the Shabeele river need justice because they couldn't even say a word.
The Geele family is well-known in MN and SD and back home in Ogadenia and Jubooyinka. They are originally from Qorexeey and QabriDahar.

Whole cities in the north got levelled with men women and children killed and your talking about couple of hundred. Caaqli Ogadeen. If it wasn't for your support of Afwyeni and the abuse of power which made the locals in Hiraan act crazy no Ogadeen would have been killed. But you must share the responsibilty and admit your behavour towards the locals in Hiraan contributed greatly to the hostile atmosphere which led to the unfortunate death of innocent civillians. You were the O in the MOD did you somehow assume that once the government fell you would be left alone. I bet you guys were high on canobode as Toganne says.

Re: Jalalaqsi Massacre
Iidoor xun baad tahay wax lagaala hadlaana majiro..There is a difference between innocent people being caught in the line fire just like what is happening in Muqdisho and the mass murder of innocent and fleeing refugees. Do you know that just about 3 months after this massacre, the entire Xawaadle tribe fled to Ogadenia reaching as far as QabriDahar when Reer Shilaabo couldn't handle the loads of the refugees. Caydiid unleashed one of the most destructive wars on Xawaadle. His offensive wasn't related to the Hiiraan Massacre.GENERAL_SNM wrote:Whole cities in the north got levelled with men women and children killed and your talking about couple of hundred. Guess what iidoor, not one single Xawaadle was hurt. We, the Absame, people are known to be baarka(the top) when it comes to Somali customs and culture. We don't hurt defenseless and innocent people. Learn the history....
While your cities were being leveled down, our cities in J/hoose were set on fire; the drinking wells poisoned; young girls were raped by marauding Afweyne militia; so stop the Calaacal; there was a dictator who punished anyone who tried to oppose his regime...Unlike you, I am still proud to be Somali because I know Somalia wasn't Maxamed Siyaad Barre and Maxamed Siyaad Barre wasn't Somalia. Have you ever thought why the hell Ogaden refugees were taken to hostile lands; iidoor and xawaadle? Logistically it would have been much easier to take the refugees to J/land. All they needed was to cross at Bakool...Very easy process. Instead Afweyne wanted to create hostility and use the complicated Somali clan system to stay in power and prolong his administration life cycle. Grow up kid...Think logically.....
Oops I forgot, today is Friday, on Fridays the iidoors chew more khat than the other days; they believe that by chewing more on Fridays, their wives will give birth to boys..
