Somalis hijack a Kansas City election
Somalis hijack a Kansas City election
Posted by judyw on September 27, 2010
Jack Cashill has this stunning story on American Thinker today.
Through a combination of massive, Somali-driven voter fraud, stunning Election Board incompetence, and the willful blindness of the Kansas City Star, machine Democrat J.J. Rizzo managed to beat conservative Democrat Will Royster by one vote in a Missouri State House primary on August 3.
There is no Republican running in this heavily Democratic, multi-ethnic Kansas City district. The Democratic nominee will face only a seriously outgunned Libertarian in the November election, and truth be told, Royster may be to the right of the Libertarian.
What the Democratic machine and the Star, which endorsed Rizzo, did not count on was for the intrepid Royster to challenge the election in court. In so doing, he has provided a sneak preview on how a desperate Democratic Party will attempt to neutralize the will of the people this November, and not just in Kansas City.
The account of the court proceedings is difficult to summarize but is well worth reading if you like Monty Python or Alice in Wonderland. Some highlights:
In this primary election in which only 1,300 people voted, as many as 100 Somalis showed up to vote. Most did not speak English but claimed to be citizens. They were “helped” by fellow Somalis who directed them to vote for Rizzo. Rizzo won by one vote.
First to testify was Lindy Hobkins, a Republican supervisory election judge. As she related, a group of Somalis came into her Kansas City election site led by one Somali man.
“They were unable to communicate on the most basic levels,” said Hobkins of the Somalis. To help his voters along, the leader “left the premises, went outside to where the electioneers are out at the appropriate space allotted for them, and he brought in a sign for Mr. Rizzo.” Hobkins continued: he “held it up and pointed at it and said this one, this one, this one.”
In a disturbing little twist, David Raymond, the attorney for the Kansas City Election Board, grilled Hobkins as though she were a hostile witness. After she acknowledged that the Somalis were all somehow registered to vote, Raymond asked snidely, “Do you believe these voters should be disenfranchised?”
Thanks to the exposure of ACORN by the conservative media, it is now widely known that many people who are registered are not eligible. But if that thought ever entered the judge’s mind he kept it closely sequestered there. People who cannot speak English at even the most basic level are not eligible to become citizens. Therefore a law was broken somewhere along the line. If these Somalis were citizens, someone broke the law by giving them citizenship. If they were not citizens but were registered to vote, then their registration was fraudulent. But the judge had no interest in looking into any of this.
“How could they be registered to vote,” [Lindy Hobkins] asked Raymond, “if they did not know how to speak English on any level?” Other than Hobkins, Royster, and Royster’s attorney, no one else involved — the Democratic Party, the Star, the Election Board, the trial judge — expressed the slightest interest in the answer to this question.
And despite a lot more damning testimony, the judge ruled against Royster. Royster is appealing. Cashill concludes:
The Kansas City Star has given this challenge only the slightest coverage. And in no article in a print edition has the word “Somali” appeared in relationship to the controversy.
In November, rest assured, the Somali vote and that of others of dubious citizenship will be turned against Republicans. There is a way for readers to fight this. Call your local Election Board today. Sign up to be a judge or a poll watcher. Ask for an inner-city precinct. And make sure you know the law better than your Democratic counterpart does. It won’t be hard

Re: Somalis hijack a Kansas City election
Whooo, now the so-called Republican machine is afraid of about 100 Somalis' vote in the November election? These Maryooleys are amazing and wherever they go, they are busting the white men's butt.
What these Somali Maryooleys need to understand is that there is no difference between Republicans and Democrats. It is a one party system and these whole two party system is just designed to confuse the electorate and the masses.
Every election in America, you will hear about the black vote, Hispanic, women, catholic voters, and so forth. It is all designed to obscure who is pulling the strings behind the scene. Can you believe an Israeli firm was counting the Democractic voters' vote during the primary season in 2004?
There are folks who are in charge and there are the masses who just believe in the script. It is a cycle that never ends.

Is this another fear mongering tactic by the Republicans? The Somalis on their part need to know not to break any laws.

Re: Somalis hijack a Kansas City election
The Somalis did not break one law. The Somalis were all citizens, the republicans were just saying that the Somalis did not deserve citizenship.
Anyway, kudos to the skinnies for using strength in numbers. But I think Somalis are wasting their votes for the democrats; Somalis would be much better off voting for republicans. I hate the culture of American liberal minorities. Just compare Mexicans to Cubans or Somalis to Nigerians - the latter groups vote Republican and are infinitely more educated and more wealthy than the first group, who traditionally vote democrat.

paidmonk,
How will Somalis voting for republicans in anyway benefit them? Republicans are elitists and serve the interests of the top 3% of this country who make more money in a year than the whole of sub-saharan Africa combined see in a decade. So, how do policies like slashing food stamps, TANF, medicaid and child care for the poor aid Somalis? Not to mention tax cuts for anyone who makes more than $250k/year? How many Somalis do you know that earn that sort of income? Mexicans vote for democrats because it benefits them, Cubans vote for republicans, because it benefits them. The only group who vote for a political group in this country that does not benefit them are whites who live below the poverty line and live in the bible belt, specially in places like W. Virginia & Mississippi.

Re: Somalis hijack a Kansas City election
Somalis do not need those food stamps programs, Somalis all work. By voting for public welfare programs, Somalis are putting themselves on the same level as blacks, which is not where we want to aim, we want to aim higher, and how it starts is by voting like the rich. The cubans came to America with the mindset that they were white and they would live like whites, and they are doing great right now compared to dominicans, mexicans, and other latino trash. We need to think republican.HalfDzed wrote:paidmonk,

Re: Somalis hijack a Kansas City election
paidmonk,
Somalis all worked here in Atlanta and all fled to the frozen depths of Maine. Why? Because they were working at meanial jobs making meager wages and chose racism & national humiliation in Maine over working in manufacturing making barely enough for shelter & utilities. What you suggest should be the aim of every Somali, but with the way things are right now & the fact that most of our people are ignorant & lack basic technical skills, it will be a long way before reliance on public assistance is abandoned. The question is, what happens until we get there? We are not like Cubans who had a higher literacy rate & education than us in the 50s when they fled to this country. We aren't even like the Irish in the 1800s who did any job to support a family.
Setting aside the core ideologies that shape the republican party & sticking only with their policies, its not compatible with Somalis. Then you have anti-immigrant rhetoric, a long history of implimenting policies that favor an elite few, tea party politics, social & economical disparities, advocating for the politics of middle aged white men, social welfare apathy, etc. Imagine voting for the same party that supports the NRA, has an undisputed historical connection to the KKK, to the Bush adminstration, to Guantanamo Bay, detention & retribution of Muslims without trial? Conservatism on steroids?
People vote along either political ideologies or vested interests. Since we have little in common with "liberal" ideas, we should vote along personal interests. And the republicans are not the party for anyone who's not white, middle aged, with an annual income of at least a $100k/year. We are not house niggers.

Kansas City is a decent city. What is there? Jobs, good schools and affordable real estate.

I thought only Somali Bantus lived in Kansas City and Omaha, I hear they have beefs with the Dinkas. Its strange that Somalis and Dinkas find each other everywhere.
