Is Shabab at war within itself?

Post by grandpakhalif »

Apparently there is a major rift between Godane and Abu Mansuur where Godane wants to kill off young dying shaabis in Baidoa while Abu Mansuur wants to treat the severely wounded.

Another issue is that Godane hired Isaaq to deal with Al Shabab 's finances also Abu Mansuur is angry that Bay/Bakool have non eelay governers

This split happened a long time ago, but it hasn't fractured al-Shabab yet. Abu Mansur's faction is called Milatu Ibrahim.

James, differences within a group and splits are completely separate issues. Abu M is still a major player within the group and he is commited to their ideology. This is why he is leading the talks between Aweys and Shab. And no group called Milatu Ibrahim exists.

GF, stop posting topics from sol.

It's not seperate from al-Shabab, it's like the Muaskar Ras Kamboni and Muaskar Canoole, they're a group-within-a-group

Bint zubayr got only support of foreigners, while most hutu shabaabists are more sympathetic towards abu mansur + he got support of his beel.
In a clear clash between them i think the latter will win.

Thats not a reason cuz bint zubayr used also to be member of UIC his job was guarding UN officials.
The reason why if somalis had to pick between them and they pick abu mansur is because this rat bint zubayr is extreme qabilist (thats why many qaldans got high functions within shabab).also he could be an agent of SL whose mission is to keep south at war.

How the hell did Bint Zubayr get Amir before Abu Mansuur? He was a bloody bodyguard and a coward!

It's always the way. If you read the history of the Chinese Revolution, Mao was a coward who never fought a single battle.

that article doesn't sound believable. The governor of Baay and Bakool for quite sometime now has been a Murusade guy, and heard no outrage before that, its standard practice.

But from what I heard before, Abu Mansuur, Ali Dheere, and other noteable ICU figure heads in the group want to make Shabaab more like the maxakiim, while Godane wants a different more far reaching stance, and that's what the problem is at

Shirib,

What about Shiikh Fuad Mohamed Shangoole, Shiikh Xasan Turki, Shiikh Cali Fiidow, Shiikh Abdirahman Al-Afghani and other regional governors like Shiikh Yusuf Kabakutukade?

There could be a third group that is in the middle of the two camps. No doubt the influence of foreign fighters are the bigger issues!
