Did SOMALILAND Take Part In The Arab Summit in Libya?

Post by Knight of Wisdom »

Ladies and Gents, there was a summit held in Libya. Sheikh Sheriff representing Somalia has taken part in that summit.

I want to know, did Somaliland take part in it, as well?

Well, Somaliland has taken part in the African Summits of the past, so why not in the Arab summit in Libya?

Did they or did they not?

Somalia doesn't exist.

The Arab League doesn't recognize Somaliland. They want one Somalia at the urging of Egypt, needing allies against Ethiopia and those other countries along the Nile that threaten their monopoly over the Nile. The fear is that Somaliland is too much of an Ethiopian puppet.

I didn't say, Somalia doesn't exist.

So, Somaliland is supported by Ethiopia, European Union, America, and Israel.

While, Somalia is supported by Arabs, Egyptians?

 So, who's gonna win?

Somaliland is supported by Ethiopia of course..

The EU, Americans, Arabs want one Somalia. Obviously whatever America wants, the international players will follow.

If Somaliland was supported by the US, Washington would have recognized Hargeysa a long time ago and the rest of the world would have followed.

Okay.

So, since Sudan consists of Tribes, just like Somalia and Ethiopia, don't you think it's only fair that if Southern Sudan becomes it's own country, that Somaliland separates from Somalia, Puntland separates from Somalia, Ogadenia separates from Ethiopia?

I think if Southern Sudan get recognized as a new nation, it will open up the doors of chaos in Africa. Real bloodshed will take place. The 1994 Tutsi genocide of 800,000 would be nothing compare to whatever might happen due to the separation of Sudan.

What is the Arab Summit, a bunch of women crying about Israel? No Arab country wants to see Somalia developed. Sharif and his pink lips only know how to travel, he is seeing a brand new world - again this is a man who a couple of years ago didn't know what a phone was.

The reason they won't support Somaliland is not because they want Somalia to stay together, they could care less. They are just scared that most of the lands the control aren't theirs and there will be a rebellion coming from their civilian populous.

Somalis seem not to understand how politics work.

That made my day. Lol

So, you're saying that the Arab are against the Ethiopians, and thus since Somaliland is a allied of Ethiopia, it will dominate the Gulf of Aden, along side with Ethiopia, thus the narrow passageway of the Red Sea would be contested amongst the Arabs and the East Africans of Ethiopia and Somaliland (if Somaliland becomes a country) ?

Hmm..interesting. :|

Ethiopia doesn't even support Somaliland per se, they just want them under their influence until they find a total Somalia that is a puppet state for them.

Zenewi and his foreign minister came to Somalia four times between them since 2006..once in Baydhabo and once in Xamar. How many times have Ethiopian top leadership been in Somaliland?

Well, let's put aside the arrivals of top politicians in Somaliland or Somalia or Puntland.

If we look at the history of Somaliland and Ethiopia since 1991, we can conclude that Ethiopia has given ammunition, weapons and whatever an army needs to Somaliland, who is build on the very principals of the SNM. Furthermore, from the 1980's as well, Somaliland or SNM were allies of Ethiopia.

With that said, do you think, Somaliland can be recognized as a country since South Sudan is on the verge of being one?

True.

So, let's forget about the faction-era.

Now, we're in a age where separation of nations are taking place.

Let's say, South Sudan is recognized as a country. Do you think, Somaliland or Puntland deserve the same fate?

For them there is no benefit in Somaliland becoming a country, and most importantly for Somalia as a whole to be unified. The reward is based on "war" not on "peace".

The only people on planet earth that listen to the words of Arabs are Somalis. No other civilization or group of people takes them seriously, and for someone's ego (an ego that has been defeated more times than a Power Rangers villian) they need Somalis to be their peasants, and give someone directions.
