A couple of Somali clerics went to an interfaith prayer in Boston.

A major Clan-Religious-Sectarian war is brewing because of it.

The clerics who attended the prayer were mostly Hawiye with the exception of a few non-Hawiye, but there were no Darood present as its told. The Majerteen clerics in my town, who as a clan make a large majority here, are running programs on TV attacking the Boston clerics. This has turned into a full-blown clan war. The Hawiye clerics are older and mostly moderate or borderline-Sufi here, the Majerteen clerics are younger and more radical, its making for a meaty squabble and I have my popcorn ready.

"No, I didn't say that," Ali said. "If the people pray, and for example, if someone goes to the church, and prays in the church, we consider them to be Christian people."
Ohh Lord, where do these "Imam" learn Islam from ?

I suppose my only concern is who are they praying to, since most faith outside the three Ibrahamic religions pray to various entities and if the way the Muslims are praying in a church would be wrong? :?

Ps We can pray in a Church, but under the Sunnah of Nabi Mohammed PBUH offcourse.....

It was completely taken out of proportion and exaggerated. Here are interviews with the organizers of the event and the photographer who took those pictures.

http://www.waryatv.com/read/article/7865

Watch all 3 parts if any of you wants to know the truth. Soomaalida by nature are sensationalists who feed off exaggerating small, symbolic gestures. And in this particular case, the group involved are Al-Islaah/Akhwaan al-Muslimeen, who are in a sectarian war with both Salafi Jadiids and Salafi Jihadis. Somalimidnimo that first showed the pictures is aligned with Al-shabaab and have always been on Al-Islaah's case, this was just one more attempt at taking a swipe at them.

This was a meeting hosted by Minnesotans against intolerance and the purpose of the event was to show solidarity with Muslims because of the new wave of Islamophobia spreading across the country and in particular, the controversy regarding the Manhattan Islamic center. What they appear to be reading are the program schedule and pamphlets as the organizer explains, not bibles.

And this was the qiblah they were facing while praying for unity with mushrikin:

^That's downright dirty and un-true. You should know better than running with mediocre stories such as the one you posted, coincidentally being spun by Al-shabaab's mouth-piece; somalimidnimo.

What is untrue? So you think that the scan of the program on somalimidnimo is fake? On what basis?
