Yh, its about 18 kilometers outside of Hargeisa.
It looks like they built it for the diaspora families who want to return back home & their children.

http://www.abaarsotech.org/about_at.htmlThe quiet, farming community where the school takes its name is located 18 km outside of Hargeisa. Abaarso (which recently changed its name to Baraaqo but is more commonly known by its previous name) has roughly 1,500 residents and includes a primary school, a women’s organization, small trading posts, and a collection of huts that sell bread, drinks and snacks. Together with the students, the staff of Abaarso Tech is developing programs that will help provide needed services and raise the standard of living for villagers. Ideas currently include routine medical care, an effective waste management system and inexpensive water sourcing, as well as micro-finance and other business opportunities for women.

It’s built and owned by Dr. Ahmed Hussein Ciise…
Great school and great development and the area is amazing too. Abbarso wil be nice Suburb to Hargeisa.

Not far from there, Dr. Bulxan is building a mental health medical clinic too….
Both men were trying to be politicians first but later opted out to something better and more constructive.
Way duushay!..well done adeerayaal! walee waa rageedii...

Waaheen is just one of his business enterprises. He isn't evolved in it. He's not the editor no does he really got any money from it. It's controlled in MN by some crazy reer shirdoon dudes.
The weekly news paper called Observer in Hargeisa is his baby NOT the website. He doesn’t really care for that.
Waa isk acaadi waxaase Siyaasad baa la yidhaa but man emptied his bank account to build something that will here for generations. You have to respect that. If you meet Dr. Ahmed in person, you would like him instantly

I liked the picture of the kids painting the exterior walls with their teachers.Cumar-Labasuul wrote:I've looked closely at some of the pictures and they have those broken glass bottles on the walls. Man I hate the sight of them and they are used in all houses in somaliland, wallahi it's ugly.

I think they do that for security precautions. To deter night burglars from jumping over the wall.

Re: Abaarso Tech:
Beautifull place, only 18km from hargeisa, all its needs is a small town to spring up around it untill it reaches hargeisa and becomes part of hargeisa city

Re: Abaarso Tech:
I know it's for security but there's no use of having them as burglars still manage to find ways of climbing over them. I think they should just put up barb wire.HalfDzed wrote:I liked the picture of the kids painting the exterior walls with their teachers.Cumar-Labasuul wrote:I've looked closely at some of the pictures and they have those broken glass bottles on the walls.
