Its not about free healthcare, Americans dont want government getting involved in people's health lives. Nothing is for free, by free what they mean is the tax payer is paying for healthcare and tax money can be increased anytime hence people are worried.

NOTHING is for free, the taxpayer is paying for healthcare and that is what Obama means by free healthcare. Healthcare is a huge institution that needs funding, if its not being paid directly and independently by patients then its being billed by the government and how does the government make their money? Yes! through tax. So if healthcare is free that means hard working americans could possibly be taxed higher somewhere down the line in the future which is a worry.

Mid term elections means nothing. Carter won his mid term elections yet didn’t win a second term. Clinton lost control of both houses of Congress in 1994 and was re-elected.

Most Americans support the Healthcare reform, it was one of Obama’s agenda during the election and hence why he was voted in. He did give people change; just one group didn’t like the change and complained loudly.

Foolish Obama tried to introduce such a concept in the middle of a recession. His timing was all wrong and he's paying for it now. Having said that, even without this free healthcare thing the Democrats were not likley to hold on to things. Recessions do that to governments. Swings and roundabouts.
