and have nothing to do nor understand what is going on around me, I bring out my trusty Walkman (iPods are for kids) and stick in an old cassette that transforms me to a bygone age. In no time at all, I find myself swaying to the defiant sound of Edith Piaf as she tells the world about her regrets. Or the comedic foolery of Amitabh Bachchan with his classic My Name Is Anthony Gonsalves. Then the hubbub around me starts to die down as I listen to the melodic sounds of the living legend that is Poulopoulos Giannis and his "I will drink the Moon tonight" classic.
I've listened to that tattered old tape so much that I now find I know all these foreign words off by heart.
Thapio Apopsi Tu Figaari, Ketha Ma Theso Ketha Po...
Tonight I will drink the moon
and I will get drunk and say
since you love someone else
throw a knife to cut me
And when the knife cuts me
having regretted, you will tell me
'take the moon's tear
to wash yourself from the blood'
And I will slice the moon
to pin it on your hair
and when we lie down, I will have
the sky in my armful
And when we wake up and go
again to the old haunts
think how beautiful you will look
with the moon on your hair
What strange music makes you feel alone in a crowd?

Carlsberg are long gone. Soto Kyrgiakos is the man.
BV, compare the brilliance below to all the expensive and theft encourging rubbish the kids get these days:
WILL YOU LOOK AT THAT! Raaah!

Lol at the walkman!
I like Edith Paif song . Is this the one that you are talking about? It is a gut wrenching beautiful melody
Edith Piaf - Non, Rien De Rien
================================
Paddington Bear, you should listen to Robert Cray's song - I was warned. It evokes similar emotions like the song you posted I think.

Yes Niya, that's the one. Love the voice.
Robert Cray is probably good but he sings in English, right? I understand English!
