Xbox Kinect - is it really worth all the hype?

Has it come out, yet? Anybody bought this thing yet and what's your experience been like?

Over the years, I've learned not to buy all the hype in to anything Microsoft has a hand in, they've managed to fuck up anything decent, including my much cherished & beloved relationship with T-mobile. I bought a HTC HD back when it first came out earlier this year as a replacement for my G1, thinking it would still be as reliable, both being HTC products and all. But, what I failed to realize early enough was that Microsoft bullied HTC in to choosing Windows as the operating software instead of the usual Android software. The result was a mutated & mediocre piece of dog shit that constantly froze, had horrible 3G signal, fucked up apps, not to mention hideous desktop options. I since then upgraded my HD with a 2.0 Android software and she's been running like a beauty. Planning on getting a G2 as soon as I scrape a few pennies together.

Enough with my rant. Drop a few lines if you either have the Kinect or have any knowledge of its reliability.
