Mashallah. As bad as it is sometimes, Saudi Arabia really do their job when it comes to Hajj management and organisation.

Mashalaaah. Why didnt they do this before? This is great. But i dont see it as practical, as it is going to be really, really crowded and cause people to be late or something. But it looks really good. Its about time they use their oil money.

It will replace 4,000 buses though, but will help with congestion.

The Chinese built it and finished it on time.

Masha'Allah. It was being built when I went in ramadan.

May Allah reward them, great custodians of the Haram.

I love the fact that they use net for roof, instead of glass sealing or bricks or wood. It make sense for the hot climate, but it can also say they are cheap. You have no loyalty and a chinese man would feel like a toothpick stuck in your g-string strap.

I went to Hajj in 2007 and I was totally impressed at the way Saudi Arabia managed and handled the whole event,

There is a reason why Allah gave them 267 billion barrels of Oil

Do any other 'muslim' countries contribute to any of the development projects regarding Hajj? Are they obliged to do so?

Cali

No, they are not obliged to do so. If they do, i dont think Saudi will allow donations. Saudis are rich as it is, they will see it as an offense, and also there is this possesive jealousy that saudis have. they want to keep the entire tawab for contributing in the enhancement of hajj.

I sometimes come across disgruntled Somalis, miffed about the fact the Ka'ba isn't in Somalia.

Cali,

Not from what I know - its strictly the Saudis that cough up all the money to run, maintain and improve the holly sites.

I remember reading an article somewhere that the black material that's drapped around the Ka'ba is made in Egypt and the embroided caligraphy in gold is of actual gold, its also changed every 3 years or so. The King opens the Ka'ba every year or one of his emissaries along with a few other Muslim diplomats, then do a quick tidying up ritual. As evil as they are, the monarch did sign an agreement with Abdulwahab's descendants to maintain the Hajj, so they're obligated.

these Arabs are behind the Ottamans 100yrs, The Ottamans suggested building a train that connects Mecca and Medina, Mecca to Istanbul and Mecca and Jerusalem. they were half way in 1880s, putting the rails and everything, when these Arabs with British, come and drove the Ottamans away and destroyed what they were building, now after a 100yrs, they realize that the Ottamans were right.
