Does this place have an affect on your Imaan?
Asalaamu Alaikum all,
Okay, continuing on from Nabeela's topic: "What have you learnt from Snet."..
Does this place have an affect on your imaan? Is it positive? Or negative?

Ok do most people here have imaan to begin with
Istaqfurullah, but I think it does more damage primarily because of how people interact with each other and what is being discussed.

I think it has a negative effect. The same effect living in a Kuffaar country does on one's imaan. The wrongs/sins become normal to you.

Cant really say, though the beneficial topics have gone down a lot recently. Seriously though about 50% of the members, I would glance over their user name and just skip their posts.

Are you having a good laugh?
It's been a long time sis. Hope you're doing well. Yeah, I agree. Interaction and the topics are important.Ismahan123 wrote:Ok do most people here have imaan to begin withIstaqfurullah, but I think it does more damage primarily because of how people interact with each other and what is being discussed.
Okay, good point. But do you think arguing/debating itself can proof to be negative?abdisamad3 wrote:negative sometimes..and at times positive..it depends on who your arguing/debating with..
Haha. Just 'cause its Snet doesn't mean our actions are not recorded, dear.military-mind wrote:affect on your imaan ah

True. I've noticed that too. Ilahay ha naga astuuro, insha-Allah.VybzKartel wrote:I think it has a negative effect. The same effect living in a Kuffaar country does on one's imaan. The wrongs/sins become normal to you.
50%? That's a big number. Beneficial topics are read I think, just don't receive the same amount of attention as other topics.*Nobleman* wrote:Cant really say, though the beneficial topics have gone down a lot recently. Helwaay, your environment does have an effect on you sis, no matter how small it is. That's why we're adviced to keep good company. We might not have children here, but we have a lot of young impressionable minds.HELWAA wrote:No, nobody can change no1 and we dont have any children in this forum.
Agreed! We focus soo much on our differences, rather than what unites us.Perfect_Order wrote:I can say for certain that argumentation never increases Iman

Re: Does this place have an affect on your Imaan?
That's true. One of the problems I noticed is you have the generally good folks, then you have the degenerates. And nobody does amr-bil-maroof-wa-nahi-anil-munkar (commanding good, forbidding evil), especially the last part. You can have some faggot saying "oh somali B8tches are this and that", and nobody will say anything. But if they say something stupid about a tribe or region (like haha you guys dont have nice cities), then its war. If you don't keep the degenerates in line and shame them when they get out of hand, that comes back to bite your Iman. And it teaches youngsters who browse this forum something. There is a saying of the Prophets companion Ibn Mas'ud ra which I try to remember.Helwaay, your environment does have an effect on you sis, no matter how small it is. That's why we're adviced to keep good company. We might not have children here, but we have a lot of young impressionable minds.
"Allah may test a person by putting them in a situation where they will have to say something for the sake of Allah. But if they keep silent, Allah will never return their heart to the level of Iman they had before".
