Somalis disagree about the cause of the violence. After experiencing bloody clan warfare during the Somali Civil War, the older generation is quick to point to tribalism. It's a topic that pops up frequently in online chat rooms, police point out. "Basically, the Madhiban guys killed two brothers and they lost the little kid that was killed a month ago," wrote someone with the screen name MJ-Pride on SomaliNet on the day that Nurki, the Coyle basketball coach and youth mentor, was murdered.
Somalinet has been getting used as a primary insight into Somali issues by outside media and organizations for years, this site is basically seen as the official Somali mouthpiece on the web.

I do not believe this. Maybe before some here, rush into pointing fingers. Maybe it was only a one time thing, because they obviusly wanted to solve this gang violence. And i doubt the police would have the resource to spy and read what every somali says in a forum.

The entire forum is run by a branch of the FBI and all the IP addressees of the dissenters are recorded and kept in a top secret national database.

Since we're spreading rumors, I might as well add to it.
