Breaking news: Somali PM Farmaajo Interview (BBC VIDEO)
The Somali prime minister says his government is "the most capable... government that has been assembled" in the country, but it still needs international support if it is to defeat jihadist fighters linked to al-Qaeda.
Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed told Andrew Harding he would like to "solve the problems ahead" for his country, but "without international support... we will have limited capabilities to challenge al-Qaeda".

For some in the USA since 1980ies his Command of the English language is rather
let us stay positive... best of luck to him and his team.

I wonder what this guy makes of the new team?

He still hasn't said what he will do differently from previous governments. The TNG was a very educated group of people. AbdiQasim was educated, Galeyr was very well educated more so than Farmaajo, and it failed. So what exactly will the Farmaajo do differently. All I hear is the same cries for the international community to help out. Doesn't look like Al Shabaab needs the international community so why does the TFG? What is the TFG plans other than calling for more AMISOM, and International Community help. Why are they not able to get the support of the every day man in Muqdisho? That's how almost all the popular groups in Somalia have worked, as grass roots organizations weather it be Sland and Pland or ICU and Shabaab. It was locals coming together, not the International Community shaping it.

I would prefer for them to win. Brother we all know even if every last shabab member is killed the TFG will not control the 4sq km after Amison leave. You only need a hand full of shabab members to survive and the movement will be reborn once again. Without dialogue with every group this shit will continue regardless of who is in control for another 100years.Shirib wrote:He still hasn't said what he will do differently from previous governments. Shirib how is he gonna get the locals support when heavily armed al shabab controlls much of the South? They go to quran schools that tell them TFG, somaliland puntland are gaalo. Every week they see someones hand chopped of or someone lashed or killed for not obeying. How can they ever express their loyalt to Somalinimo when they are being killed for not wearing hijab? I think we should not rely on the civilians that that are in camps and under al shabab controlls.Shirib wrote:He still hasn't said what he will do differently from previous governments. Farmaajo did telll Al shabab that he wants to negotiate, and they denied. So there is no more option then calling in more force and dealing with them. Farmaajo will tell more of his strategies soon, with a whole cabinet that is not illetirate. Some changes can be done.

And how long has Somaliland been waiting for Indipendence? 20 years next year huh? Is that also being naive? Or is it being "hopeful" when it comes to Somaliland politics?The_Emperior5 wrote:Big deal Sh dalxiis gave aljazeera 1000 interviews in arabic and said the same how is this going to change anything. naive people baad tihin.. Farmaajo seriously wants to make a difference but the problem is not with Al Shabab or any of the other opposition groups but the TFG itself. Poor guy is trying to drive a car without an engine but he is asking the world to fill its gas tank.

In USA, Texas is a indipendent wealthy state, but does that mean it is not a state under USA?The_Emperior5 wrote:Somaliland is an independent country allready my dear friend it just does not have diplomatic recognition , But independent are we indeed.Coeus wrote:And how long has Somaliland been waiting for Indipendence? 20 years next year huh? Skåne is indipendent in many ways in Sweden, But does it mean that Skåne is not a region under the Swedish goverment?
Until Somaliland has international recognition by another state. Then it is under Somalia as it states in the consitution. Now this is facts. And if Somaliland want indipendence then that can only be granted by Somalia, or the African Union.
As for the video, i dont need a reminder of how incompetent sh. sharif is, but are you saying farmaajo is like sh. sharif?
I fail to see how you can compare.

Beledweyne is in Koonfur yet independent of TFG controlSkåne is indipendent in many ways in Sweden, But does it mean that Skåne is not a region under the Swedish goverment?

TFG has 4sq km kingdom... SSC and Sheik Atom control more territory then Sheik Sharif... Heck Saado cali has more support and loyalty then TFG.
DJbooti is a city state smaller then Sanaag with a population less then That in Hagiesa or Galkacio yet it is an official country.
Dude every somali is a king in his own castle so let us move on...
