The original Somalis are both offsprings of Dir and sub-sections of Oromo, including the Hawiye-Boon-Boni- Gogarte-Gabooye and Gabre.

Dir inhabit both North and South Somalilands, while the sub-set of Oromos inhabit majority of the South including scattered Northern plains.

Which sub-sects are you thinking of? Southern Oromos are pure, unless they intermix with the neighboring bantus.
With Somalis, You have the Hawiyaa(Hawiye), Akichu(Akisho), Gaarri(Garre), and many others who are Oromo. Only people who you can claim somali from oromos are pretty much the gurguras.
