Djibouti Ready To Help Bring Peace To Somalia
The Djibouti government on Tuesday proclaimed it is ready to help Somalia’s new government bring peace back to Somalia.
Tayib Dubad Roble, the Djibouti ambassador to Somalia, made the announcement Tuesday after meeting in Mogadishu with Mohammed Abdullahi Mohammed, the prime minister of Somalia, and some of the newly-sworn cabinet ministers.
The ambassador came to Mogadishu to reopen the country’s embassy after more than a decade.
The officials, whose countries share a border along the Gulf of Aden, discussed several issues including the bilateral relationship between the two nations and how Djibouti could help Somalia assure security and fight against militants.
“The Djibouti government is ready to help its brothers in the horn of Africa nation. We can’t forget Somalia, because it helped us get our independence three decades ago,” Roble said. He also warmly welcomed the formation of the new government and wished it success in the near future.
Reliable sources suggest that he met with the president of Somalia, Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed, to impart greetings from Isma’il Omar Gelle, the Djibouti president.
The current Somali government is the outcome of a reconciliation conference between the transitional federal government of Somalia and the Alliance for the Re-liberation of Somalia that took place in Djibouti city in late 2008.

Horta i noticed djibouti is a passive state that is not recognised for anything then its foreign military base and its commercial port. Seems very corrupt.Oxidant wrote:What exactly can this colony do for Somalia? Best they shut their mouths and serve their French masters.

Anyhow, instead of holding meetings in DJibouti why not in Hargeysa?
That would have been more productive...

Well this particular meeting was in Mogadishu. But some of the meetings do occur in djibouti. Because the goverment in hargeisa doesnt want to hurt their "indipendence" i think.![]()

We are more and more corrupt then Ismail and his cronies
But still, Somalis would benefit from these conferences if they are held in their own country...They may spend some of what they steal inside Somalia..

Djibouty is SOO POOR, they can barely help themselves. 50 cent should buy the worthless space known as Djibouty.

No outside force can bring peace to the south if they dont want it and from their action they are not interested in peace..
