Ethiopia holds talks with Somalia

Post by Coeus »

Ethiopian Prime Minister Meles Zenawi held talks with Somali Prime Minister Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed on bilateral ties and regional issues here Tuesday.

Zenawi said Ethiopia will continue its efforts with the African Union (AU) and international community to ensure permanent peace and stability in Somalia as it is of paramount importance to the Horn of Africa.

The newly established cabinet of Somalia is committed to ensure peace and stability in the state, he said, adding that Ethiopia will work closely with Somalia's Transitional Federal Government (TFG) in all spheres.

Mohamed said Somalia will work hard to promote relations between the two countries for mutual benefits.

He said Somalia strongly condemns the disruptive acts of international terrorist groups like Al Shabab, and that Somalia' TFG will fight resolutely against these together with international peace organizations.
