are we allowed to have concubines?
concubines (mulk al-yamiin) were specifically refereed to in the quran as the second type of women that a man is allowed to have a lawful sexual relationship with besides his wife.the practice was in place and flourishing for the most part of the Islamic history and the last I checked the Ummayads hand pick the finest Moroccan girls for their khalifa, the Abbasyids indulged Persian concubines, while the Ottoman emperors were into eastern European girls.girls so fine that they inspired Suleiman Basha to compose his master pieces and signature poems that still circle until this day. now don't get it twisted and think "oh my God,subxanallah that's wrong" because these God fearing, history making, Islam banner raising khalifa were playing by rules and it was all halal.
now my question is what happened to that practice? are we allowed to bring it back and have a modern day concubines? a peurto Rican, swedish or even mixed African American one? if no, then why not?
I personally, and on behalf of every sane male here want my concubines back.
lets discuss .

Sxb the Quran is Allah's word, which is timeless, so of course it's permissible.

Re: are we allowed to have concubines?
so let me get this straight
having sex outside of marriage is a sin that get you stoned to death if your are a woman
but a married man is allowed to keep other women for the sole purpose of having them as sex toys?
Am I the only one that sees the inconsistency in logic?

mulk al-yamiin refers to slave women.. No one has slaves in this day and age.

Re: are we allowed to have concubines?
Theres no translation for the term mulk al yasmiin in the English language, It don't mean 'slave', I only used that word because that was the closest word in English I could think of. To my knowledge Mulk al yamiin was captured females during wartime. Life back then and today is totally different, if a female was alone and had no male guardian the above agreement would take place for her to secure protection and also for her survival. But nowadays things aint like that no more, females are more self sufficient and we dont need males for survival.. hence why it isn't acceptable no more!!Coeus wrote:Mauritania....WestLdnShawty wrote:mulk al-yamiin refers to slave women..
