Lol Liqaaye. The year 2000 will remain with me for the rest of my life. Burco was a hell hole with destroyed buidings everywhere, houses with no roofs, windows, street beggers, people walking around with guns. But then again, it's when they were making a slow recovery and to see how far they've come in terms of rebuilding, building bridges within the community, disarming of the clans and implementing law makes you really wonder what the future holds.

Cali, wow it must of been bad. My dad went to hargeisa in 97 and there was no airport they dropped you off in kalabaydh airstrip - some dusty miyi- and you had to drive from there. The city was still damaged.

most somalilanders living abroad came to the west as refugees so i wonder whats keeping you guys from moving back home now that Somaliland is peaceful for the past 20 years ?

ibrahim, so many elders have gone back and settled in s/land, aswell as many older people who have funds to start businesses and make a living there, most of the young people are either finishing their education here in the west or saving up funds ad have planss for going back which are realistic not some fake dreams.

Cali-gaa ....I can Honestly say Burco has rebuild it self from the year of 2000, i remember the New Xaafad Called (London Village) My Sister was one of the first ones to build a House there only for 10k at that time, and it was located not far from the Football stadium, and when i went back in there in 2004 could not even find her House wallahi, Octoobar alone has expanded so far East, while London village Dissapeared

and Year 2000 dont remind me of the Guns, nearly every man over the age of 15 was armed witha AK47

Mansha allah Somaliland has gone a long way, and this Clan wars we always talk about its soooooo out of Fashion
Keyse.. ive also realised that wallahi, The Somalilanders go every year, while the Punanilanders only goes back 1 time or so in their whole life time..... and even when they go, Hargeisa and Burco is on their List, or mostlikely they end their Journey in Hargeisa

I alsoknow alot of Dhullos who went to Laascanood Via Berbera and Bosaaso, their Last destination is always Hargeisa where they can fully Relax and enjoy them selfs.... Every Plane Daallo, African airways ive taken in my time to Somaliland from Dubai 80% of the people are Heading for Hargeisa or BURCO, while surprisingly alot are Heading for Moqadisho

and few to Puntland (Gaalkacyo)
