I don't have much guidance but this website; and I really need your help and guidance. I am 23 year old Somali male who is in his final year as a medical student in a prestigious university. I was born and have always lived in the suburbs in Northern England. I don’t know any Somali’s and as you know most live in south of England so my neighbourhood is just White English people.

So I’m getting ready to graduate from medical school Alhamdulillah, but now my parents have started bringing up talks about marriage. I haven't told them about my intentions yet, but I honestly don't find Somali women in anyway attractive, no offense. As I said I grew up in a white area, so it's only normal that I only like them and find them attractive.

What shall I do? Friends please help me and give me advice. Please don’t attack me.

Hey I am doing residency in internal medicine here in chicago....let me know if u need any help....My brother it is a very important matter u need to think hard.....Remember if u are having kids.....u need to worry about religion...culture...i mean somali culture is very important to me....race is also another factor.

I will advice u to look for a nice Halimo.....from ur town religious and cares about somai culture ....Good luck..

Thank you brother, I just don't feel any attarction to somali girls. I haven't grown up with any and I don't want to insult anyone or cause any offence I don't see them in the best light from the ones I have witnessed.

I think you're not the only one who is in that position. I have actually seen a number of young Somali people who are/were in the the same situation as you are. I would exhort you not to be hast. Since you've indicated that you know few Somalis, I think it would be wise if you give yourself sometime to get to know more about Somalis, and then maybe you'll start to like the Somalis women than you currently are now. Nothing is better than keeping the Somali Gene as pure as it could be. That is what I think, but people do have the choice to make a difference.
