These are pictures of the development of Gedo International Airport located in North East of Garbahaarey. It will become the biggest airport in Gedo.

is there a plan of paving the run way? or are they gonna stop at leveling the ground and sand compacting?

Yeah they are going to pave the run way, but first the ground was very unbalanced as the airport is located in the hilly city of Garbaharey so they are leveling the ground at the moment. I think the beginning of next year around Feb-March they gonna pave the runaway. I was this there this summer and it was beautiful.

yeh,leveling takes alot of work.pavement costs alot of money though .how much is the project suppose to cost and who is funding it?

Project was started by the pilot in the States pre-Shabaab, actually those mofos put it to a halt for months demanding money and their 'permission'.

Sorry Mate but, Al-Shabaab have no authority or any affairs with this development, sorry to break your heart though. This project was started by Sade diaspora and elders in Gedo.

It is funded by Sade Diaspora and some Elders in Gedo. The estimated price I am not sure, but I heard over millions of dollars.

lool, It is going to be a international airport for Gedo. Gedo allready has airports but they are not international airports. Such as Baardheere Aiport and Luuq Ganane Military Airforce Base. You need to learn the different types of airports.
