horto I just noticed, sup with these astronomical marriage costs now a days, even the most modest ones are costing something in the neighborhood of 20K,let alone the fancy 40-50K ones (thats how much of a cave man I'm) and is it the norm for the girls to come with half the money or significantly contribute now a days?
lets discuss his phenomenon.

I remember when I heard about this somali guy in London had a wedding at Hilton hotel and had so much food, singers, 300 people and it was so expensive the wedding. Then everyone finds out the groom works in Mcdonalds making burgers lol

To be honest its a old story that my sister told me, funny thing is this was the early 90's and he still did one at one of the most expensive weddings at Hilton hotel in Central london and he didn't even have a good job. I don't rmember anything else from the story.
But I just remember it was kind of funny, I don't know if he was pressured into it.

that's really stupid to spend all these money, hade dad gajeysan la qodinayo maha ika di'e laha!!!
my uncle married from his wedding reception, guys and women separate not even $1500. i even arranged it and made it as gift to my uncle.
maher ki iyo shabkadi ombi bihiyey and it was $8000 (because she was a family we gave that much, other wise half of that would work as a mahar). that's all what he spent from his pocket, plus the ticket (san'a ka so gursaday)
