Re: Airlines to somalia
^I visited Somalia this past summer so believe me when I say there is no major Western airline that services Somalia other then small privately owned Somali airlines, most are old Russian planes (I completely suffocated in the one that flew us into Bosaso).
Four of us left the US at a cost of about 8 thousand, each paid 1400 to fly into Dubai, Delta flew us to Europe and from there KLM flew to Dubai. And another 6 hundred with Cosob Airline to fly into Somalia, pleasant flight till our landing in Berbera... no terminal at all to rest while our luggage was being transferred on our connecting flight, died of thirst in that hell hole in all honesty.

Re: Airlines to somalia
D-Runner, I experienced the same. There are no aviation authority in Somalia that really regulates these airlines.
Ninxoon, these are the airlines that operate in Somalia at this point:
1. African Express
2. Jubba Airways.
3. Daalo Airlines.
4. Cosob Airlines
5. PuntAir
You can catch the 1st 4 in Dubai; however, to my understanding, you can catch PuntAir in Ethiopia ansd will travel to Garoowe.
Daalo will 1st travel from Dubai to DJibouti, and then from DJibouti, you will catch one of those old Russian planes that you will always suffocate to Hargeisa. To my knowledge, they were only travelling to Hargeisa from DJIb.
African Express, Juba Airways, and Cosob travel from Dubai to Berbera, and from Berbera you would catch those old Russian planes if you are going to rest of the Somalia with the exception of Mogadishu. The flight that goes to Mogadishu is always the Boeing 747 that is vigorously inspected by the UAE Aviation authorities when it originates from Dubai. My experience with Juba Airways is very bad and I would not recommend it to any one but they may have improved from their previous mistakes.

Re: Airlines to somalia
Lol, its cool. But the one and only unavailable airline due to 20 years of civil war, The Somali Airline 'White Star Service'.

Re: Airlines to somalia
Yeah, you are right but that needs a functioning state. Do we know where the airplanes are? I am talking about the Boeing 747 or 767.XimanJaale wrote:Lol, its cool. But the one and only unavailable airline due to 20 years of civil war, The Somali Airline 'White Star Service'.![]()
