Contraception in Islam

Post by Ka darag »

Is it allowed?? iyo what types?? I'm obviously talking about if you are married cos obviously contraception is never gonna be halal when you're commiting zina

My friend was like you can use the pull out method :? , but no condoms iyo waxaas... :|
The common method of contraception at the time of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was coitus interruptus (withdrawal of the penis from the vagina just before ejaculation) thus preventing semen from entering the vagina. The Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) engaged in this practice during the period of the Qur’anic revelation. Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) said, 'We practiced coitus interruptus during the time of Allah’s Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) while the Qur’an was being revealed.' (Reported by al-Bukhari and Muslim)

Is the fact that you're in education a valid reason for delaying pregnancy ?? Or perhaps not being mentally ready? Obviously, one must not harm the body iyo use the permanent methods of contraception so this is more to do with the pill, condoms, the injection, the patch etc.

Somalis tend to think something's wrong ,e.g the woman is barren, if the woman hasn't popped one out after a year of getting married...

Don't ask why I am asking....just interested ...okay. :|

Let's discuss this very important topic.

I have never heard it's not ok, condoms. :?

I'm not married anyway, so I don't really care. But somalis don't use contraception and if the couple are having sex then pregnancy logically follows, if not then the girl is barren. They will never ask if they are having sex or not tho

And you don't have to have an excuse not to have kids either. :|

is there a spot in Quran that prohibits contraceptions? No. So it is halaal to use condoms. Again, we have to remind ourselves that Allaah swt is our controler-- if he wishes a couple to have kids-- he will do something that day where a condom will not be used and a pregnancy ensues. So relax--get your freek on-- and use 12 condoms. *whispering* Akhaaas.

I was talking about how somalis think, don't forget they came from the dark ages and are still in that mentality. I'll give you an example of how they think my mom once said, "when you get married you have sex, and next thing you know a baby just comes, you don't try for it."

I also heard her say," oh when you have good sex, then you get beautiful kids"

Don't quote me, but family planning and contraception is allowed, I believe the only one is not allowed is sterilisation, somalis should really consider using contraceptions, do you know how many single mothers roaming around in my neck of the woods, my God, it's too much, just wear the damn bac or pop the pills if you are not ready for kids, and not willing to raise them the right way, ilmo iska dhal baay yaqanaan, sex might be raaxo, but you should really think about your actions and the coincidences.

yep wise words ...over here, they do so much to prevent teen pregnancy, yet it still happens.

Your mother said that?

I don't like when people call into Islam Q&A shows and ask these types of questions. Just sounds extra wrong with the poor sheikh trying to hide his embarrassment, yikes always cringeworthy
