Yemen has had enough: They are to deport 388 africans

Post by Coeus »

The Interior Ministry has ordered the Immigration and Passport Authority to deport 388 illegal African migrants, most of whom were Ethiopians.

The ministry posted on its website that Minister Mutahar al Masri ordered to take quick arrangements to deport the Africans, held in coastal provinces after they had illegally entered Yemen.

The move comes after some of the migrants requested the authorities to send them back home.

In 2010, Yemen in cooperation with the International Organization for Migration returned about 800 Africans to their countries.

Africans continue to arrive in Yemen almost daily, fleeing deteriorating situations, mainly in Horn of Africa countries – Somalia and Ethiopia.

According to recent statistics, there are more than a million African migrants in the country, with the authorities trying to cope with their needs and measures to reduce infiltration through the sea.

Many of those who defy death crossing into Yemen die when overcrowded boats sink or when human smugglers force passengers to swim in deep waters to reach Yemen.

i wonder why people even go to Yemen, ilaahay amarkiis badanaa. why cant people go to the camps in garowe and galkacyo and just chill out, wear their macawis, karabaati, dacas, marry one of the girls in the camp, and wait for the expired rations from the UN headquarters in Nairobi. this is more classy than risking your live in the shores of arabia. i plan on sitting up an NGO that specializes in turning somali refugee camps into fanatistic places and removing the stigma associated with it; why is a camp in dadaab better than one in garowe, especially with peace and stability in these regions. i sometimes feel like the UN itself is against Somalia, locating and concentrating their aids in these hostile countries and far away places instead of bringing it home.

Because somalis wey imaan la'yihiin. You tell them they will be abused in yemen, they could die in the sea, they could be deported back by the authorities etc and they won't listen. They'll go anyway. Their situation isn't even better in Yemen, in fact worse. They'll be subject to rape, abuse, assault, arbitrary arrests and other human rights abuses. They will still be in make-shift refugee camps eating stale food dumped there by the NGOs, and those are the lucky ones. All they are doing is embarrasing us by running to a shithole country that neither wants them nor cares about them, SMH.

hyperactive, $50 for 30 days, shit that is a bargain, that is how much a phone costs in somalia. cheap rentals for the month are even greater than that, my uncle told a shanty garage place that fits one honda civic is costing him $150 let alone an apartment or a liveable place. but people that go to Yemen have no money and are not like somalis who depend on xawilaado, they are mostly minorities from xamar and raxanweyn, those guys got it bad. Puntland should help this guys because somaliland is too far and the south is to volatile. wallahi i would rather die in somalia than live like a pig in arabia. the funniest thing is i met someone from there and asked them why do you go there b/c it is backward and focked up with no development they said 'dadka hormarka si bey u arkaan, qolana wax bay ku hormartay, dadkaani waxay ku hormareen diinta'

You're just a hater that doesn't even know them there are around a million and a half Somalis in Yemen some legal ,some illegal. Every country has got assholes, but what Yemen did for the Somali quxooti shall not be forgotton. Besides how can you run to Ethiopia, when Ethiopians themselves risk death to flee from their country.

Besides most people go to Yemen so that they can move on to the UAE. KSA
