The mystery deepened this week as several hundred more dead birds fell out of the sky in Murray Ky., officials said Wednesday, Jan. 5. The birds were found near Murray State University last week. The kill is raising eyebrows in wake of the mysterious bird deaths in Arkansas and Louisiana. Birds found in western Kentucky are the same species found in the other incidents: red-winged blackbirds, grackles and starlings. Wildlife officials said several robins also fell from the sky.

Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources spokesman Mark Marraccini said police were alerted after reports of Arkansas and Louisiana birds hit the news.According to Marraccini, many of the birds were tested and scientists found no evidence of disease or poisons. The deaths, like those in Arkansas and Louisiana, are being attributed to weather conditions and unknown outside agents.

In Arkansas, the 4,000 birds that began falling from the sky New Year’s Eve are believed to have been spooked by fireworks. In Louisiana, officials said 500 birds were likely killed when they flew into power lines, however, no explanation has been given as to what may have sparked the odd flight patterns. Meantime, about 100 dead crows fell dead in Sweden while millions of dead fish have washed up in the United States, Brazil and New Zealand. The fish kill was first reported when 100,000 dead drum fish were discovered on the banks of the Arkansas River this week.Cold water spells are being blamed for the fish kills, however, conspiracy theorists and religious groups are lining up with a hundreds of theories including alien invasion, secret government tests and the first stages of a biblical apocalypse.

I was reading about it yesterday on the NY Times. There have also been astronomical deaths in fish in that area, some 87,000 fish are believed to have died in the Arkansas area the black birds died just a short while ago. My only guess is it might be related to either man-made causes like they've hinted or something more sinister like airborne biochemicals. These are rural counties in the backwoods of America. The military is probably conducting some heavy-weight experimentation there or the chimicals could've somehow leaked out, then affected these wild life populations. The EPA was called in and are probably now doing their best to do damage control more than actual research in to these deaths. We'll just have to wait and see what's next.

I doubt we'll ever find out as well. Its not a coincidence, that much is clear. There's no way anyone with an ounce of intelligence can accept that New Year's eve fireworks could have somehow scared 4,000 birds in to their death. Even the likely hood of cardiac arrest as a result of fright is ludicrous, because this isn't the first time fireworks have gone off in that area, what about July 4th festivities just a few months ago? These birds are accustomed to such man-made intrussions. They're probably complaining about us in their own ways, but to suggest fireworks have scared them to death is quite insulting. The whole town was literally covered in black fur, the Pentagon is doing something they shouldn't be in that area.

Did you ever watch the "Crazies"? Good movie.
