
Government army in Hiiraan region, central Somalia have threatened that they would remove Al-shabab militias who control most of that region, official said on Thursday.
The chief commander of the forces of Somali Transitional Federal Government in Hiiran region, Ahmed Inji stated that his forces were prepared to remove Al-shabab forces from whole the region.
“Our forces close to Beled-weyn town and they are in less than 5KM to the city, they will liberate the whole region from Shabab militias”, The commander said.
“I don’t tell specific day to the press, but we would clear the enemy from Hiiran region and some of our forces carried out operation around Bule-burte district, Ahmed Inji, leading officer of the T.F.G forces in Hiiraan region said.
Wars routines to the strategic town of Beled-weyn, the capital of Hiiran region and it’s the second city that Somali government forces wage war against Islamist militias of Al-shabab who control south and central Somali with strict laws.
