Dr. Andom Ogbamariam, director general of Research and Human Resource Department in the Ministry of Health, said that the Ministry would step up efforts to upgrade manpower capacity.

He pointed out that the Ministry is giving Masters and B.A. programs, as well as distance learning in collaboration with foreign universities. Assistant Nurse Program at certificate level is also being provided in Ginda, Mendefera and Barentu schools, he added.

Dr. Andom further explained that educational opportunities aimed at developing the nation's manpower resources in health sector are registering gratifying outcome, and that such programs would continue in an intensified manner.
