San'a — Yemen security forces have taken 30 Somali refugees into custody after operations in the city of San'a, Shabelle correspondent in San'a reported on Monday.

In operations from Sunday night to Monday morning, Yemen police are reported to have number Somali and other refugees in parts of San'as, accusing of failing to put forward their identity cards.

Officials of Yemen authorities said they will seize anyone who is not Yemeni citizen or hasn't an ID card showing that he is a refugee.

The officials declined to say the number of people they apprehended during their operations.

Witnesses said, the police were searching all people they suspected of not being Yemeni citizens.

The government of Yemen has not publicly stated the reasons behind these detentions.
