The u.s. is probably supporting Hariri's son the Prime Minister not to work with Hezbollah, at the same time it is a personal issue to due with his father. And he needs to avenge his fathers death. When Politics meets Personal issues.

Sa'ad Hariri is clearly the dumbest and most incompetent prime minister in the history of Lebanon.

Hasan Nasrallah and company could have easily taken over the country a long time ago if they wanted to. They had the hearts and minds of most of the "people", and certainly the resources to do so (especially around 06-07 when Israel completely paralyzed the Lebanese govnt and wiped Beirut off the Map,). Hizbollah just doesn't want to have to kill their own brothers (literally in some cases) who are in the national Army & police, or wreck the kind of sectarian violence you see in Iraq or Afghanistan on their own country deliberately! The old Lebanese gov was smart enough to realize this, of course and let them hold official positions despite international (read: Israeli & American) outcries. This one has poor foresightedness. I knew this United Nations Special Tribunal for Lebanon was coming, especially after this past summer's events, but is all a comeplete joke most likely wont do anything but to run the country in a downward spiral. If the UN was the least bit serious they'd focus on the Goldstone report, not Rafik Hariri. I'm pretty sure resigning these positions is just the first of whats to come. :?
